Pigeon Point lots of rocks could be underwater, but lots of different areas all north of the lighthouse Mission Foothills park either on Palisade or Overlook next to the empty lots. Can then walk NE into the hill to find both dirt paths for bashers or rocks for crawlers Fremont Peak State Park hike up peak trail going north westish from parking lot to ridge, then follow ridge south east. You will soon see the creek on the right which has a few good areas. The best spot is a little up the road just past the first bridge along the creek. Down in the creek, you can go up as far as you can, the water level is high right now though. Percolation Ponds When the ponds are empty, rocks line the bottom and sides of the pond Linda Vista Park It has its own parking lot. Rocks for 1/10 around the playground, good uphill at parking lot for dirt/debris, and further in the park is a water feature that is now emptied of water for all scales including a flat dirt area. Near Anderson Dam There is a nice big parking lot off Cochrane. Then it’s a short walk. Like I said, right now you have to go around the fence and then there’s a pretty short climb up to this really cool plateau that’s kind of hidden. The construction workers can’t see you back there and it’s got really cool rock formations at the base of what is sometimes a waterfall. Hellyer County Park May need to pay to park/enter. Park in the parking lot nearest the lake. Watch for wildlife. Calabazas Park the dirt track is in the park. Be aware that bmx biker’s come in and they don’t play nice. It’s advised that you come during off hours, really early, say weekdays. The dirt track has jumps and good for basher, rally cars, and even something like the fms smasher. Emerald Glen Park Near the corner of Central Pkwy and Tassajara Rd next to the Water Play Area Pinole Shores Park Rocks along thepath of the Bay Trail. Can also find a break in the Bay Trail path towards Wilsons Point Albany Bulb Rocks scattered all around Coyote Hills Muskrat Trail must pay to get in, near parking lot/restrooms up Muskrat Trail Isherwood Staging Area Along the Alameda Creek Trail, going towards the nearest bridge Under Stanley Bridge park on Old Canyon road near the bridge. walk over to the creek Newark Community Center Park fake rocks surrounding the playground. Can be busy with kids especially on weekends. Construction going on for a few more years, so you have to go behind a fence Danna Rock Park Park on the street. The hill up to the left and behind the playground is where the action is at. Good large rocks and a little scale around them. Seven Seas Park here’s a small area of rocks as dividers amongst the pathways for 1-tenth crawlers Almaden Dam at Hicks Rd The main spot is the line of boulders close to the dam's spillway but there are a few other great places to crawl all within walking distance Sam Trail Need to walk down the trail and you'll see the manmade breakwall having collapsed. Lots of rocks along with shallow fresh water creeks; during the winter is a huge and deep creek though Byxbee Park There is a large french drain as you pass the rest rooms. just need to be aware of any rangers that may come by Campbell Inn / Los Gatos Creek Make your way to the Los Gatos Creek Trail and head towards E. Campbell Ave getting close to the bridge. You’ll see a little break in the fence to get to the rocks. Edith Morley Park ponds Next to the park, are ponds oftentimes empty. When there is no water in the ponds, there are rocks and sidewalls. Lupe The Mammoth at Guadalupe River Trail park in any driveway alongside the canal but beware “No Parking” signs. Rocks are the same and stacked against the hillside. Yoake No Noraneko Mural HOW TO FIND: Park in the Target parking lot nearest to the trail on the same side as the street from the Yoake mural. You will see a small patch of rocks along the river first, then head out under Colman. Not much there, rocks are big and lots of public on the trail. Further down, you will not find rocks, just a lot of bushes. HISTORY: There is a rangers office on the other side of Colman, stay away from them, not recommended to go there when workers are present also. The Plex at Coyote Creek Look for legal parking and can walk over to the trail and then creek. Usually good during summer when creek is dried up. has a section of breakwall crumbled to climb Jacques Gulch Ravine HOW TO FIND: Hicks rd takes too long so go down Almaden expy. all the way down and make a right on Almaden. Almaden turns into Alamitos. You will take a nice ride through an old town and then just after the reservoir, make a right on Hicks rd. Plenty of parking at the intersection. Step down into the creek, you can go up the creek with many waterfalls as far as you can go. I did not go any further due to the heavy brush at the end. I went back home using Hicks and saw more of the creek with more rocks, but no where to park. HISTORY: Looks like it was just made for a creek re-structure. Make sure no workers are there, looks like they are planting endangered trees. Greystone park on the street near the intersection of Boulder Mountain Way & Rocky Crest Dr then head on up the left side of the boulders. The first set of boulders is trashed, but good. Then head up the steep trail to the next set. Trails are scattered all over, weaving between the rocks. Lots of brush. Mini Hammers park on the street and hike up the trail into Tulare Hill Preserve. Walking to the Coyote Alamitos Canal you’ll find the rocks Almaden Meadows Park Parking on the street, big rock at the corner. Visible from the intersection. Canoas Garden at Guadalupe River If you come from the south side, head north on Almaden Expy. and turn right on Wren Dr, which is like a mile before you hit Hwy 87. If you come from the north, you have to make a u-turn at Koch Ln and then turn rt on Wren Dr. Park right there as soon as you turn right. The no name park has some rock scattered along the paths. The large row of rocks in the back have a few good lines on them. The rest is unexplored and looks like it has potential for some scale if the river dies down and the brush gets cut. Good for comp rigs at the large rocks, you can find a few scale lines if you weave around them. Penitencia Creek Trail WHERE: Near the street is an area to go to the creek for the rocks. Start at 3128 Penitencia Creek Rd and go across the street. GOOD FOR: 1:10 scale as there are big rocks, follow the leader Fowler Creek Park WHERE: Rocks are found facing Cortona Dr behind the tennis courts and near the corner of Cortona and Altia Ave. Fairway Glen Park Small set of rocks good for all scale sizes surrounding the sand play ground Guadalupe River 237 underpass Has some small rocks but not much of an ascent
